How to become a volunteer
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with us! Here is the process:
1. Find your role
Decide which volunteer opportunity you think you might like to pursue. Not sure? The Volunteer Manager can answer any questions you may have at orientation, by phone at 612.746.0732 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. Submit an application
Download and complete this 2-page Volunteer Application, and send it by email with the document attached to Georgia Afton (email@example.com), by secure fax (612.721.5848) or by mail (LBFE, 1845 E Lake St, Minneapolis, MN 55407).
3. Attend orientation
LBFE Volunteer Orientations are generally held one Saturday morning and one Tuesday evening each month. Find an upcoming date and registration directions on the right.
4. Complete a background check and remaining paperwork
After orientation, we’ll email you a link to process your own background check online through Verified Volunteers. Through this quick and secure system, your sensitive information remains in your control. Let us know if you don’t have access to the internet to do this, and we can make other arrangements.
You will also have received some additional forms at orientation that will be needed before placement. To inquire about your status or to request any forms, please contact Georgia Afton at 612.746.0732 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once all your paperwork is completed, our staff will make their preparations to add you to our team, and contact you shortly about getting started. Feel free to check in on your status at any time by contacting Georgia at 612.746.0732 or email@example.com.
